Wednesday Pryor's mobile office traveled to Prairie,
Woodruff, Cross, and Poinsett counties.

Man accused of sexually assaulting girl surrenders to police

A Jonesboro man accused of sexually assaulting a young girl turned himself in to the Craighead County Sheriff's Office.

According to the sheriff's office, 28-year-old Lonny Wesley Lockley, who had a warrant out for his arrest, surrendered at noon Wednesday.  

An hour later he appeared in court where he was charged with four counts of 2nd degree sexual assault.  

After posting a $5,000 bond, Lockley was released.

Gov. Beebe appoints two from Craighead County

 

Governor Mike Beebe announced Wednesday the appointment of Veryl Hodges, D.O. of Jonesboro to the Arkansas State Medical Board.  Hodges replaces Patty Pettaway.  The appointment expires December 31, 2012.

Donald Arthur “D.A.” Davis of Bay was reappointed to the Arkansas Fire Protection Licensing Board. His appointment expires on April 1, 2017.

The theme of this year’s program is WWW.GOD (Willing, Working, Worshipping):  Christian women building a spiritual network.

The guest speaker will be Javon Newsome of Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Driver causes chain reaction accident involving 5 cars

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) – Jonesboro Police are investigating what caused a man to lose control of his car and cause a 5 car accident Wednesday afternoon.

According to Jonesboro Police, the driver was heading southbound on Southwest Drive when he lost control of his car and caused a chain reaction, hitting four cars waiting for a stoplight.

None of the drivers were injured.

Two of the car had to be towed, while the other three received minor damage.
