A Jonesboro man’s afternoon walk ended with him being assaulted and robbed.
Colton Coots, 19, told Jonesboro police he was walking on the track at Parker Park Community Center, 1522 N. Church, when three teenagers “crowded around and hemmed him up.”
Coots says the boys asked if he had a phone or “anything else” on him. Then one of the boys punched him in the face.
He told police after giving the teens an iPod Shuffle that belonged to his roommate, another one of the boys punched him again in the face. At that point Coots says he ran toward Warren and Roseclair. The boys reportedly chased him to the road then ran toward Garden Manor.
Police were unable to locate the suspected thieves, who were described as African-American, 13 to 14 years old.
