Birthday bash planned for "Man in Black" | Arts & Culture
On February 26, 1932, Johnny Cash was born in Kingsland, Arkansas. When he was three years old his family moved to Dyess in Mississippi County.
To celebrate the "Man in Black's" 80th birthday, a celebration will be held at 2 p.m. at the Dyess Community Center, State Highway 297 at East 4th St.
The event, hosted by Arkansas State University, will launch the restoration of the Johnny Cash Boyhood Home.
The Birthday Tribute will feature Cash family members singing and offering personal tributes and reminiscences. Light refreshments will follow.
The event is free and open to the public.
