New grocery store coming to Jonesboro | Business
Haag-Brown Commercial Real Estate and Development announced Thursday that ALDI is coming to Jonesboro.
The grocery store will be located on two acres located at the corner of Caraway Road and Race Street.
Plans for construction of the 16,399 square foot building are already underway.
Joshua Brown, a principal in Haag-Brown, said they have been “aggressively pursuing” ALDI for almost three years.
“I distinctly remember the morning we realized where they needed to be,” he said in an email.
“Greg (Haag) and I were riding around Jonesboro drinking coffee at sunrise looking at our projects. The deal we had been working on with ALDI for an etire year had completely died. We drove by the old Corky’s BBQ building, which we had just put on the market and Greg said, ‘That is the best site in our market for ALDI.’ He was right,” Brown said.
ALDI operates more than 1,200 stores in the 32 states, from Kansas to the East Coast.
