Workshop for those starting a new business | Business

A workshop for start-up businesses will be held from 6 until 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 12, at the Arkansas State University Delta Center for Economic Development building, 319 University Loop Circle.

“Starting a Business in Arkansas:  How to get a New Business Started Right” is aimed at anyone considering starting a new business and wants to ensure it has the best potential to succeed regardless of economic conditions.

According to Herb Lawrence, center director and coordinator of the workshop:

“If you are going to start a business in 2012, then this seminar is the place to start.  Topics will include business plan keys for success, legal requirements, licenses, fees and permits required by Arkansas, how to determine the feasibility of the business idea, common pitfalls to avoid, information about financing options and much more.”

Registration is $30 per person, Jonesboro Chamber of Commerce members pay $20 and ASU faculty, staff and students pay $15.  The workshop is free to all military veterans and their families.
