It’s a brand new day at Hays Supermarket in Jonesboro. And, by the looks of these photos, it’s a brand new store.
Mayor Harold Perrin did the honors Wednesday morning and snipped the red ribbon at the store’s grand opening. In addition to members of the Jonesboro Regional Chamber of Commerce, he was joined by Hays employees and the King family, which owns the chain of stores.
Once inside, customers were treated to cake and a newly remodeled store.
They lined up at the deli, which now offers a fresh salad bar and sushi prepared in the store. They also had their photos taken with Bimbo the Bread Bear.
Hays Supermarket is open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Saturday at the University Center located at the corner of Nettleton Avenue and Stadium Boulevard.
