Jimmy John’s Gourmet Sandwich Shop is coming to Your Region 8.

Haag Brown Commercial announced Monday it has closed a deal to bring the chain to Jonesboro.

The shop will be located at 1319 Stadium Boulevard, next to Local Culture in the space formerly occupied by Seattle Grind Café.

This is the restaurant chain’s first location in Region 8, but it may not be its only one.  According to a news release from Haag Brown:

A little sleet isn't stopping the 7th Annual Chamber Showcase.

Dozens of businesses will be displaying their wares and services today at the Paragould Community Center.

The expo will feature about 90 Chamber member businesses from around the region, including Abilities Unlimited Arkansas Methodist Medical Center, NEA Baptist Clinic, Unico Bank, Staffmark, ASU-Paragould and ARI.

The doors open to the public from 1 until 3 p.m.  Everyone is invited to stop by and talk with local business owners and register to win some great door prizes.

During a recent visit to Newport’s Norandal Rolling Mill, United Way staff member Paula Robertson was presented with a corporate donation from Norandal’s parent company Noranda.  

Site Manager Chad Pinson made the presentation.  Also present were Stan Crabb, site superintendant; Chris Hulett, customer service manager; and Bob Carter, environmental health and safety specialist, who was the 2012 United Way Campaign Coordinator.

Then look no further than the ASU Small Business and Technology Development Center.

The ASU SBTDC will host a workshop at 6 p.m. Tuesday, February 12, on funding sources you might have overlooked.  There will also be information about available grants and local resources.

The workshop will be led by Robert Bahn, business consultant at the SBTDC.

When you think about agriculture, you think about Arkansas.

According to the National Agriculture Statistics Service, there were 48,300 farms in Arkansas with more than 13.5 million acres of land in 2011.

On Wednesday, February 13, farmers all across Your Region 8 will gather at Arkansas State University for the 19th annual Agribusiness Conference.

Some of the industry's "heavy hitters" will lead sessions on price issues, commodities, public policy decisions and other trends affecting agriculture.

If you love chicken wings and sports, then you should cheer this news:  Buffalo Wild Wings is coming to Jonesboro.

Haag Brown Commercial announced Monday the restaurant has been added to the Creek Place Development on Stadium Boulevard near the Mall at Turtle Creek.

The real estate company says it worked “directly with Liberty Bank of Arkansas and Buffalo Wild Wings in the two-acre land transaction.”

According to a news release from Haag Brown:

Focus Bank breaks ground on new permanent location

 

Focus Bank broke ground Thursday on its new permanent location at the corner of Race Street and Stadium Boulevard in Jonesboro.

The two-story bank, which is estimated to cost $6,000,000 for the total project, will feature five drive-through lanes and will be approximately 22,000 square feet in size.

The building was designed by architect Jeff Steiling of Cahoon Steiling Studio.  The contractor is Ramson Construction, Inc.
