Robber claims he had "kids to feed" | Crime
A man who police say robbed a Sonic employee apparently had “kids to feed.”
The holdup happened just after 10:30 Tuesday night at the Sonic Drive-In at 724 South Gee.
The worker told police she was in the stall on the northeast corner of the building when an African-American man approached her.
The man demanded her apron, which had more than $100 in it.
According to the initial police report, he told the worker “he didn’t want to hurt her, but he had kids to feed.”
After letting her get her keys and phone out of the apron, the man then ran off.
The victim described the man as being 5’10” wearing a thick black jacket and black pants.
