JPD investigating copper theft at CWL | Crime
Jonesboro police say someone scaled a fence and stole more than $600 worth of copper from City Water and Light.
Brian Reding reported the theft Thursday morning. He told police when he arrived at CWL’s west yard, located at 105 W. Johnson, he discovered several pieces and reels of copper wire missing.
According to the police report, the thieves also took an Igloo cooler and a Sharpshooter shovel from the yard. However, the items and 15 feet of copper, valued at $52, were recovered on the other side of the fence.
Investigators say no force was used to enter the yard. Instead, it’s believed the suspects climbed the fence.
