Man accused of exchanging 'sexually explicit' photos with teen | Crime
A Jonesboro man is being held in the Craighead County Jail, charged with child pornography.
Jesse Shaw, 20, is accused of sending and receiving pictures of a sexual nature to a 15-year-old girl.
According to court records, the girl’s mother contacted police on Sunday, July 21, after finding the photos on her daughter’s cell phone.
During an interview with investigators at the Jonesboro Police Department, the girl admitted she sent Shaw three photos that were sexually explicit, the affidavit stated.
Officers contacted Shaw and took him to the police department where he was advised of his Miranda rights. According to the records, Shaw waived his rights and agreed to make a statement without his lawyer present.
During the interview, Shaw reportedly told investigators he had received the three photos “about 1 month ago.”
Shaw said he kept the photos on his phone until Sunday and deleted them after the girl’s mother learned he had them, the affidavit stated.
On Tuesday a judge found probable cause to charge Shaw with distributing/possessing/viewing matter depicting sexual conduct involving a child, a Class C felony. If convicted, he could be fined $10,000 and be sentenced to 3 to 10 years in prison.
Shaw is being held in lieu of $5,000 bond awaiting his next court date on August 30.
