Police: pot found in chicken dinner box

A traffic stop Thursday morning ended with a Jonesboro man in custody on drug charges after officers say they found pot in a chicken dinner box.

Clint D. Haas, 32, was stopped for speeding at N. Kathleen Street and Pacific Road, according to the incident report.

Officers reported smelling marijuana inside the car.  While searching Haas' pickup truck, officers say they found a marijuana cigarette in the ashtray.

According to the report, under the truck seat they also found a Dairy Queen box "that appeared to maybe have had chicken or some other meal inside." When they opened the box up, the officers say they found several cellophane baggies filled with marijuana, totaling 5.5 ounces.

Haas is charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance with the purpose to deliver, all felonies.  He was also charged with speeding.
