Teen accused of sexually assaulting girl on school bus | Crime

Jonesboro police arrested 19-year-old Ernest Lee Carter on charges he sexually assaulted a 13-year-old girl Wednesday afternoon while riding on a school bus.

According to court records, Carter, who is a Nettleton High School student, put his arm around the girl's neck and said "she owed him something."

When the girl tried to call for help, Carter reportedly choked her then put his hand down her shirt and squeezed her left breast.  According to the probable cause affidavit, he then tried to put his hand in the girl's pants.

At that time, two males on the bus reportedly pulled Carter off of the girl.

Police were later notified and the girl identified Carter as the one who had assaulted her, according to the report.

Carter is charged with 2nd degree sexual assault and assault-2nd degree/reckless conduct creates risk of physical injury.
