Suspect couldn't escape four-legged officer

A man wanted by police found it’s not easy to outrun a four-legged officer.

During a traffic stop Thursday afternoon on North Allis, Jonesboro police reportedly discovered one of the passengers, 23-year-old Jonathan Currie of Jonesboro, was wanted on a Craighead County felony warrant.

When police tried to arrest Currie he reportedly struggled with the officer and ran down Allis Street.

According to the police report, when Currie ignored the officers’ orders to stop, K-9 officer “Max” was deployed.

The dog reportedly chased Currie and “detained” him on Patrick Street.

Currie was taken to St. Bernards Medical Center for treatment of the dog bite.  He was then taken to Craighead County Detention Center where he was charged with fleeing on foot, resisting arrest and placed on hold for the bench warrant.
