JPD arrest two for bootlegging

Neither man had a still, but that didn’t stop police from arresting them for bootlegging.

Wednesday, June 6, Jonesboro police arrested Anthony M. Reeves, 36, for the “sale, barter or possession for sale or barter in a dry area.”

He was taken to the Craighead County Detention Center where he was given a surety bond of $500.

Less than two hours after Reeves’ arrest, officers arrested Fhlenoyl O. Johnson, 52, on the same charge.  They also reportedly seized eight 12-ounce cans of beer.  Johnson was also charged with non-payment of fines.

Larreal G. Pope, 20, was also arrested for delivery of a controlled substance after police reportedly found .2 grams of crack cocaine.
