JPD: Woman comes clean after Brillo pad falls out of bra | Crime
A Jonesboro woman was arrested Thursday afternoon after police say they found a glass pipe in her pants and brillo pad in her bra.
According to the police report, the officer stopped a vehicle at the intersection of Creath and South Patrick after reportedly spotting the passenger, Angel D. Cude, 39, not wearing a seat belt.
While stopped the officer reported Cude seemed nervous. The officer deployed his K-9 “Bear” who alerted on the presence of an illegal substance at both the front passenger and driver’s door.
After a search of the car failed to turn up any drugs, the officer contacted Cude’s parole officer who said Cude usually hides a crack pipe in her bra, according to the police report.
The officer said while questioning Cude about the information a “gold, Chore Boy-type brillo cleaning material fell out of her bra.” The officer also reported seeing a “bulge in the front of her pants” which turned out to be a glass pipe wrapped in tissue. The officer said the pipe had a “small amount of residue and burn marks.”
According to the report, Cude told the officer she smoked crack cocaine from the pipe, which also had a small "amount of the Chore Boy material stuck on the end."
Cude was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of instruments of crime and parole violation.
In an unrelated case, officers arrested Daphne J. Williams, 44, on suspicion of being a parole absconder.
Williams was reportedly on parole in Randolph County and had a warrant for absconding.
According to the police report, she was arrested without incident at an apartment in the 600-block of West Monroe.
Williams was taken to the Craighead County Detention Center to await transport back to Randolph County.
