Probation checks land two back behind bars

Two people on probation are locked up in the Craighead County Detention Center facing new charges.

Tuesday afternoon Jonesboro police officers conducted a probation search on Linda Luster’s home in the 400-block of East Cherry.

According to the officers’ report, Luster, 41, had not checked in with her probation officer “in a while.”

During the search the officers reportedly found a lockbox containing several cell phones.  They also reported finding a locked toolbox containing razor blades; glass pipes, including one with burnt residue; digital scales with residue; and .3 grams of methamphetamine along with other drug paraphernalia.

Luster was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance (meth), possession of drug paraphernalia and felony probation violation.

Paul R. Summers, 45, was arrested on similar charges after officers searched his residence in the 2400-block of Willow Street.

At the time of the search Summers was wanted on a failure to appear warrant out of Craighead County, according to the police report.

The arresting officer reportedly found a syringe “loaded with suspected methamphetamine liquid” in Summers’ sock.

The officers also reported finding scales, a spoon with residue and cotton on it, an unloaded syringe and 1.6 grams of suspected meth during a probation search of his home.

Summers was charged with possession of a controlled substance (meth) and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia (felony and misdemeanor).
