Man robbed at gunpoint

A trip to the grocery store ended with a Jonesboro man being robbed at gunpoint.

Just after 7 p.m. Monday, July 2, officers were called to Bill’s Fresh Market, 725 E. Johnson Avenue, in reference to a robbery.

The 59-year-old victim told police he had just left the store with $558 cash when a young, African-American male pulled a gun on him and demanded the money.

After getting the cash, the victim said the man ran behind the store.

The alleged thief is described as being in his late teens to early 20s, wearing a black hat with a white zebra stripe pattern.  He was wearing jeans, a long-sleeved red shirt and white shoes.

According to the police report, the man followed the victim inside the store and stood beside him when the clerk handed the victim his money.

The store manager told police he has video of the suspect that he will turn over to investigators.
