Woman accused of stealing clothes, laundry detergent | Crime

Jonesboro police say a woman not only shoplifted nearly $900 in clothing, she also stole the laundry detergent to clean them.

Elmira Howard, 41, of Forrest City was arrested Sunday evening after a loss prevention manager at Target reported seeing her stuff $897 worth of clothing into a large tote bag.

When police searched the bag, they reported finding “62 items of various clothing and 2 bottles of liquid laundry detergent.”

In addition to the duds and the detergent, police say Howard also had 8 outstanding warrants and was on supervised probation in St. Francis County.
