JPD: Woman, daughter arrested with grandchild in tow | Crime
A woman and her daughter were arrested Thursday after police say they stole beauty supplies and sinus medicine from a local store. With them, according to police, was the woman’s grandchild.
Carolyn Kay Jobe, 44, and Tasha Marie Warren, 20, both of Cash are charged with shoplifting $33 worth of hair spray, cologne, head bands and various sinus medicines from Country Mart, 3106 Southwest Drive.
A store employee told Officer Asa Ladd he saw the women placing items in their purses as they walked through the store. He confronted the women and took them to the store’s office where they relinquished the concealed items, according to Ladd’s initial report.
Ladd said Warren’s young child was with the women at the store. Jobe’s husband was contacted and the child was released into his care.
The women were taken to the Craighead County Detention Center where they were charged with theft of property less than $1,000 and ordered to appear I court on August 6.
At last report both Warren and Jobe were in custody, being held on a surety bond of $520 each.
