Police: Stolen steaks, eyelashes land probationer back in jail

A hungry probationer apparently didn’t know what was at stake when, according to police, she stole eight New York strips.

Carolyn J. Moore is charged with felony probation violation after Jonesboro police arrested her just before midnight Saturday at Walmart, 1911 W. Parker Road.

According to Officer Jamie Seaborn’s initial report, a Walmart employee said he observed Moore select eight New York strip steaks and four packages of false eyelashes.  She then went into the automotive department where she stuffed the items into her purse, according to the report.

After Moore walked to the front of the store and exited, the employee reportedly stopped her and asked her to return the items.

Moore was cited with theft of property (shoplifting).  After learning she was on probation, Officer Seaborn contacted Moore’s probation officer who advised that a hold be placed on her.

Moore is currently being held at the Craighead County Detention Center.
