Convenience store robbed early Sunday morning | Crime
Jonesboro police are looking for a man who robbed a convenience store early Sunday morning.
Just before 4 a.m. a white man entered the Citgo, 3910 S. Caraway, and pointed a silver handgun at the clerk.
At first the crook told the woman to turn off her cell phone and get on the floor. Then, according to Officer Timothy Burns’ initial report, he told her to remain standing and asked her “not to look at him.”
The man then reportedly said, “Girl, let’s do this together” and told her to put the money from her register in a plastic bag with several boxes of Newport cigarettes.
The man had the gun pointed at the clerk the entire time, according to the incident report.
After getting $300-$350 and six packs of cigarettes the man ran out the door.
The victim described the man as a tall, white man, approximately six-feet-five to six-feet-six, very slender with pale skin. She also said he had a “very distinguishable blue eyes” and a “strong accent, possibly foreign.” He was wearing light blue denim jeans and a black sweater.
Officers searched the area but could not find the man.
