Woman arrested for disrupting court | Crime
When a judge says “Order in the courtroom,” it’s best to comply.
A Jonesboro woman learned the hard way that not doing so can land a person in jail.
Carol A. French, 61, was arrested Monday and charged with disorderly conduct after police say she started yelling in court.
According to Officer Chris Perry, French “approached the bailiff area and yelled at the judge about public service.”
When the judge told her to leave, French reportedly refused and “wrapped her leg around the podium in front of the bailiff.”
Perry said “I had to grab her and yank her off the podium.”
French was taken to the Craighead County Detention Center where she is still in custody. She’s due in court on August 15.
