JPD: Woman hit with skillet for refusing sex with ex-boyfriend | Crime
A Jonesboro woman told police her “kind of” boyfriend hit her in the face with a skillet because she wouldn’t have sex with him.
The 39-year-old woman told Officer John Porbeck she and her ex-boyfriend, who lives in Helena, had gotten into an argument on Monday, August 13, over her not having sex with him.
She said the argument continued until the man grabbed a skillet, spun around and hit her in the mouth.
The woman said she did not call police at the time and said the rest of the evening was “uneventful.”
When she went to work on Tuesday morning she was turned away “due to having an open laceration.” The woman then went to St. Bernards Medical Center where she received stitches for the wound.
The woman described the man as her “kind of” boyfriend. She told Officer Porbeck that, although he visits “from time to time,” she has not had a relationship with him in seven years.
Officer Porbeck advised the woman to contact Craighead County District Court to seek a summons against her attacker.
At last report, no charges have been filed and no arrests have been made.
