Police: Pringles can held pot, not potato chips

Jonesboro police say it wasn’t potato chips they found in a Pringles can but pot.

Officers discovered the hidden dope Tuesday while conducting a probation search on Latony Sims’ apartment in the 2700-block of Curtview.

According to Officer Blake Bristow’s initial report, as soon as he walked through the door he “detected an odor of green marijuana in the living room.”

During the search officers reportedly found two bags of marijuana, weighing 15 grams, hidden inside a Pringles can.  Officers say they also found a set of digital scales on top of an entertainment center.

When asked about the drugs, Sims reportedly said “he did not sell he was just addicted to smoking marijuana.”

Officer Bristow arrested Sims and took to the police station where he was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.  Sims was released after posting $1,390 surety bond.  He’s due in court on September 26.
