JPD investigating two armed burglaries | Crime
Jonesboro police are investigating two aggravated home burglaries that happened within minutes of each other.
The first happened just before midnight Monday, September 3, in the 1500-block of Links Circle.
The victim told Officer Timothy Burns, two black men kicked in his door and stole several items while holding him and his wife at gunpoint.
The man said the two suspects kept asking for “weed.” When the couple said they didn’t have any, one of the suspects reportedly said “since you have no weed I should kill you.”
The suspects were described as being in their early 20s, wearing jeans and white t-shirts.
A few minutes later, at 12:13 a.m. Tuesay, September 4, Officer Rich Rothwell was called to another burglary in the 1000-block of Markle Drive.
The victim said she was asleep on her couch when two black men kicked in the front door. She said one of the men had a pistol in his hands and demanded money.
The woman told Officer Rothwell she pointed at her purse, then put a pillow over her head.
The suspects, described as wearing dark pants and light shirts, reportedly stole several pieces of jewelry and approximately $300 in cash.
