Three arrested on felony drug charges | Crime
Three Jonesboro men face multiple felony and misdemeanor charges after police say they found marijuana in their car and apartment.
On Friday, September 7, police were called to the Pines Apartments in the 300-block of North Caraway regarding a drug sale in the back parking lot.
When officers arrived, they reportedly found William Watson, 18, and Roosevelt Bowles, 20, sitting in a 2000 Cadillac Escalade. Officers reported both men “appeared to be nervous.” One officer reported smelling a “strong odor” of marijuana and asked the two to get out of the car.
Police then searched the vehicle and reported finding a set of digital scales and 13 grams of marijuana, packaged to sell.
All of the items were seized and the vehicle was towed. Officers arrested Watson and Bowles and transported them to the Craighead County Detention Center (CCDC).
The PROWL Unit and a K9 officer were then dispatched to the men’s apartment, located in the 1300-block of Links Circle.
During the search, officers said they found nearly 10 grams of marijuana, individually wrapped in plastic.
Officers arrested Richard Brown, who also lived at the apartment and was there at the time of the search, and transported him to the CCDC. Brown was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of an Instrument of Crime.
Bowles and Watson were also charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Obstruction of Government Operations.
All three men were scheduled to appear in court Monday afternoon for a Probable Cause hearing.
