JPD: Couple caught with their pants down | Crime
A Jonesboro couple was caught with their pants down. Literally.
Bruce Allen Tate, 50, and Angela Kay Tate, 36, are both charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
Police arrested the couple following a traffic stop just before midnight Sunday, September 30, on Johnson Avenue.
According to the officer’s report, when he stopped the couple’s car he “noticed the driver and passenger both moving around a lot.”
When he approached the car, the officer said he “noticed Mr. Tate had his pants undone.” After recognizing the Tates as “known methamphetamine users,” the officer reported he called for K-9 unit.
While walking the K-9 toward the vehicle, the dog reportedly “veered off course and began sniffing Mr. Tate.” The officer searched the couple and their vehicle. He reportedly found a used tinfoil boat used when smoking methamphetamine.
The officer asked Tate why he had his pants off and “if he had hid anything.” Tate reportedly said he did not have anything to hide and that Ms. Tate also “had her pants off.”
The couple was taken to the Craighead County Detention Center to await a probable cause hearing.
