JPD: Two homes shot at | Crime
Jonesboro police are looking for the people who opened fire on two homes.
The first shooting occurred around 5:30 a.m. Saturday in the 500-block of Oakshire Circle.
After hearing glass breaking on her house, the victim thought someone was breaking in and called police.
When officers arrived, they found several empty shotgun shell cartridges in the driveway. All three windows in the front of the home had been shot, as well as the front door and a white Cadillac parked in the driveway. Officers also reported finding spent 9mm shell casings in the yard.
Neighbors told police they heard the gunshots. When they looked out their window, they saw two black men dressed all in black running from the residence toward a dark SUV.
The second shooting happened just after midnight Monday in the 1000-block of Burke Street.
The victim told police he was watching television when he heard three shots fired.
The responding officer reported finding two holes in the west side of the home. One hole was in the living room area and the other was located in the kitchen. A third bullet apparently traveled through the crown molding and a box of cereal on top of a cabinet.
The officer was unable to locate any bullets inside the home or any bullet casings outside.
A neighbor told police he heard two gunshots, followed by four more in rapid succession. He then heard “tires squalling” and saw a car, possibly a Chevy Impala, leaving the area.
