Wrong turn lands man in jail

An illegal left turn turned into a felony arrest for one man.

Jonesboro police stopped 32-year-old Johnathan E. Respalie of Cash after reportedly seeing him make an illegal left turn from Church Street onto Highland Drive.

During the traffic stop, the officer learned that Respalie was driving on a suspended driver’s license and was also wanted on a city warrant.  After taking Respalie into custody, the officer searched his vehicle and found a black bag filled with syringes and plastic baggies containing traces of unknown substances.

Respalie was taken to the Craighead County Detention Center where he was charged with driving while license cancelled/suspended/revoked, improper turn and possession of drug paraphernalia.

At last report he was being held in lieu of $630 bond awaiting a court hearing.
