JPD: Couple robbed at gunpoint outside apartment | Crime
Jonesboro police have beefed up patrols at The Links apartment complex after a couple said they were robbed at gunpoint.
According to the initial police report, the couple said they were walking toward an apartment in the 1800-block of Links Circle when an African-American man wearing a dark-colored hoodie and a red bandana pointed a “gray handgun” at them and demanded money.
Thinking the gunman was joking, the male victim told police he “laughed at the suspect.” The robber then “pointed the gun at his head and demanded money again.”
After learning the couple did not have any cash, the robber reportedly stole the female victim’s earrings and a ring, valued at $35. The victims said the suspect, whom they described as being approximately 5-feet-10, then ran south.
Several officers searched the area but were unable to find the suspect or any evidence.
The area has been placed on the extra patrol list.
