JPD: Barber had meth, 2 pounds of pot | Crime
A Jonesboro barber won’t be cutting hair for a while. Not after police say they found nearly two pounds of pot in his home.
On Wednesday police arrested 35-year-old Carey D. Bell on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.
While serving a search warrant at Bell’s home in the 2100-block of Cain Street, police reported finding 2.5 grams of methamphetamine and 1.8 pounds of marijuana.
Bell, who told police he is a self-employed barber, was taken to the Craighead County Detention Center where he was charged with possession. He was also cited on nine non-payment of fines warrants. He remains in jail on a $3,040 cash-only bond and a parole hold awaiting a probable cause hearing set for Monday, November 19.
