Four charged with home break-in

Judge Keith Blackman found probable cause Monday to charge four Forrest City men with a home break-in on Friday.

Dale E. Walker, 28; James Earl Smith, 18; Deandre Burnell, 21; and Christopher Otis Simmons, 20, are charged with residential burglary and criminal mischief.

The men are suspected of kicking in the door of a home in the 900-block of West Craighead Road, setting off the home’s alarm.

After finding a partial footprint on the door, officers confiscated the men’s shoes and logged them into evidence.

According to the initial police report, the suspects had been spotted earlier walking through several yards in the Laymen Crest Subdivision and nearby Sherwood Oaks.

The suspects appeared before Judge Blackman Monday afternoon.  He set bond for Walker, Burnell, and Simmons at $100,000.  Smith’s bond was set at $75,000.

If convicted, they could be fined as much as $15,000 and spend 20 years in prison.
