TV stolen from local church

Someone has a new 50-inch flat screen television.  But, according to Jonesboro police, they had to steal it from a church.

Between the hours of 1 p.m. Monday and 8 a.m. Tuesday, police say someone entered Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 1812 Rains Street, and stole a Samsung TV valued at more than $750.

Pastor Russell Shoemaker told officers a boy scout troop had a meeting Monday night at the church.

He believes someone may have accidentally left the front door unlocked, allowing the suspect to enter the building without force.
