Thieves strip copper from home construction site

A new home under construction will have to undergo renovations after thieves stole thousands of dollars worth of copper wire.

Homebuilder Michael Goad told police sometime between 3 p.m. Friday and 9:30 a.m. Monday, someone entered the home located in the 3800-block of Turfway Drive and cut the electrical wiring.

He said the crooks also took the copper out of the home’s walls.

Goad estimated the cost to replace the wiring and repair the damages at $6,500 to $7,000.

Police do not have any suspects at this time.
