JPD: Woman found asleep in stolen pickup | Crime
A Region 8 woman found sleeping in a pickup truck got a rude awakening when police arrested her.
Around 3:15 p.m. Thursday, Jonesboro police were dispatched to Bill’s Fresh Market at 725 East Johnson.
When officers arrived they found 49-year-old Bettina J. Irving asleep in a red 1997 Isuzu Excel pickup truck.
According to Officer Shane Fox’s report, a check of the license plate number revealed the truck had been stolen in Lawrence County. Fox said the Hoxie Police Department confirmed the truck was stolen.
Irving was taken into custody and searched then taken to Sedgewick where she was turned over to Hoxie police.
