JPD arrest 3 suspected in credit card theft ring | Crime
Jonesboro police Monday arrested three women suspected in a large credit card fraud ring.
Latoya Young, 25; Dametria Johnson, 22; and Brittany Shaw, 23, are charged with theft of property and fraudulent use of a credit card, both Class D felonies.
According to court records, the three women are accused of stealing wallets then using the victims’ credit cards to purchase and load Walmart Visa gift cards. The gift cards are then taken to Little Rock where police say they are traded for cash.
Jonesboro police arrested the three women Monday at the Highland Drive Walmart.
According to the affidavit, the defendants stole a wallet from an elderly female shopper at Hobby Lobby then used the woman’s credit cards to purchase gift cards at both Jonesboro Walmart stores.
Police reportedly arrested the women in the act of using the victim’s credit card.
