Man arrested following nap in drive-through | Crime
Apparently the wait was too long for a man who fell asleep in the drive-through at McDonald’s.
That’s what Jonesboro police say 49-year-old Ken T. Willis of Auburn, AL, did Friday night.
When Officer Nick Dean arrived at the fast food restaurant, located at 2207 E. Nettleton, he found a blue Dodge Dakota pickup truck stopped in the drive-through line.
Another off-duty officer, who was working security, reportedly told Dean that Willis had been asleep in his truck “for several minutes.”
After waking Willis from his slumber, Officer Dean said he found a 100ml bottle of Amsterdam Vodka in Willis’s back pocket. In his front shirt pocket, the police officer reported finding a “half-smoked marijuana cigarette stuffed inside” a package of cigarettes.
After failing a Standardized Field Sobriety Test, Willis was taken to the Craighead County Detention Center where he was cited for possession of a controlled substance and DWI. He was given a court date of February 20 and left with a surety bond of $1,720.
