Jonesboro police say 24-year-old Allen Trice apparently “forgot” he had a bag of marijuana hidden in his pants.

According to Officer Blake Easley, at 11 p.m. Tuesday he stopped a Chevy Trailblazer on Scott Street after noticing the driver, 21-year-old Bryson M. Young, was not wearing a seat belt.  Easley reported he also knew Young had a suspended license.

When asked why he was driving on a suspended license, Young reportedly told Easley his mother didn’t like him to be out late driving around with him and “his homeboys.”

Jonesboro police say a cross-dressing shoplifter is once again behind bars. 

On Monday Officer Logan Hall arrested 20-year-old Dramell D. Payne on charges of Criminal Trespass.  Hall also arrested 34-year-old Don Fitzgerald Black on the same charges.

According to Officer Hall’s initial report, both men are accused of stealing $500 worth of property from JC Penney’s, 3000 E. Highland Dr.

The men were reportedly banned from the Mall at Turtle Creek after each was arrested on shoplifting charges earlier this month.

After her dog reportedly bit three people on separate occasions,  a Jonesboro woman decided it was best to put the animal down.

According to Jonesboro Police, 48-year-old Teresa Stevens’ pit bull bit an 8-year-old boy who was visiting her home.  The boy reportedly suffered extensive injuries to the lower part of his left leg.

 This was the third time the dog had bitten someone, according to Officer Ben Wright’s initial police report.

A domestic dispute Sunday night ended with a man stabbed in the neck and facing drug charges.

Around 9:30 p.m. officers were called to a domestic disturbance involving weapons in the 300-block of State Street.

According to Officer Cody Coley’s initial report, 34-year-old Tammy Wofford said she and her husband, 31-year-old Clenton Wofford, “got into a fight over him messing around with other women.”  She reportedly said she confronted Wofford “while he was gambling.”

A Jonesboro man faces felony assault charges after police say a lovers’ quarrel turned violent.

Just after midnight Saturday officers were dispatched to the 600-block of Melody Lane regarding a domestic dispute.

The victim told police she and her boyfriend, 24-year-old Matthew John Goad had been arguing when “he became irate and began pushing her.”

One thing you can say about a Jonesboro woman arrested on multiple drug charges:   at least she was honest.

According to the initial police report, 29-year-old Heather R. Gathright was arrested Sunday afternoon following a traffic stop for a broken tail light. 

After learning the passenger was on parole, Officer Brett Mann searched the vehicle and reportedly found a “foot-shaped pouch” containing a plastic baggie with two small burnt marijuana cigarettes and rolling papers.  He also reportedly found a set of scales.

Jonesboro police are investigating several vehicle break-ins, including one in which the crooks broke into a vehicle used to repair railroad tracks.

Bill Younger of Union Pacific told police sometime between September 8 and September 16, crooks stole multiple items from a Jackson Tamper vehicle which is used to tamp the stone beneath the ties and align the tracks.
