Girl Scout Daisy, Elizabeth Post, learned a very valuable lesson. She maybe small and young, but she can make a difference in the world around her.

Elizabeth completed her "Between the Earth and Sky Journey" on Saturday, June 30, with the help of Crowley's Ridge Nature Center, her Troop (#3417), sister Troop #3150 and friends. The final project for the Journey Programs is always a community service project. Between the "Earth and Sky Journey's" project was to preserve a "Natural Treasure."

What's that tree?

Can you tell the difference between a hickory and an elm tree?

You will after you go on a leisurely hike through Crowley's Ridge State Park.

Tomorrow from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. a park interpreter will lead you on a half-mile hike.  During the trip you'll learn how to identify some of the park's trees.

Admission is free.
