Take your dog for a walk and help NEA Humane Society | Events

Knowing the economy has been "ruff" on the NEA Humane Society, the kids at Annie Camp EAST Lab are doing something that should get plenty of tails wagging.

Once again they're hosting "Bark in the Park" Saturday, October 8, at Craighead Forest Park.

It will feature a dog walking relay race and a fun walk.  There will also be a dog costume contest and a raffle for a basket of dog treats and toys.

Registration begins at 1 p.m. at the bandshell.  The costume contest will be held at 1:30, followed by the races at two.

This is the second year the students have hosted "Bark in the Park."  Last year they raised $343 for the NEA Humane Society.  This year they're hoping to top that.
