Get swabbed, save a life | Events
On September 21, 2011, just hours before she gave birth to her son Samuel Ayden, Leslie Harris was diagnosed with leukemia.
Since then Leslie has undergone three rounds of chemotherapy and months of sickness, surgery and pain.
Doctors have said unless she gets a bone marrow transplant, she has just six months to a year to live.
A bone marrow donor drive will be held Tuesday, April 10, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. at Arkansas State University.
Everyone is invited to drop by the Spring River Room on the 3rd floor of the Reng Student Union and make a donation.
You're also encouraged to get swabbed to see if you might be a possible bone marrow donor. To qualify you must be:
- 18-55 years old
- In good health
- Weigh at least 110 pounds, but not exceed a body mass index (BMI) of 40
- Be willing to donate to any patient in need
For more information, contact Colin Hall at (501) 231-5713. For more information on becoming a bone marrow donor, visit http://www.dkmsamericas.org/
