NAFA: Protect your pets, get them vaccinated for $7 | Events
According to the Arkansas State Department of Health, the number of rabies cases in the state is up dramatically.
Last year there were 60 reported cases of rabies. This year already there have been 52 cases reported.
In February a Lawrence County family's dog became rabid after it was apparently bitten by a skunk. The dog was inside a fenced yard, but it had not been vaccinated.
To help prevent the continued rise of rabies and protect your pets, Northeast Arkansans for Animals will hold a low-cost vaccination clinic for qualified individuals this Saturday, April 14, from 7:30 until 11:30 a.m. Dr. Jack Jones will be administering the shots at the NAFA office, 233 N. Gee, for just $7. Other vaccinations, heartworm testing, preventative, flea and tick medication will also be available.
For more information, call NAFA at (870) 932-1955 or visit their website www.nafarescue.org.
