Several events are planned for the week of June 11 through 17 at Crowley's Ridge State Park, 2092 Highway 168 North in Paragould:
Saturday, June 16:
Lifeguard Break Programs at Lake Ponder Beach, 1-5 p.m.
During lifeguard breaks the swimming stops for a few minutes; but, the fund doesn't end. Join the park interpreter for programs, games and activities where you can take a break and learn a little more about Crowley's Ridge State Park. Detailed schedules are available at the Visitor's Center. Admission is free.
Sunday, June 17
Civilian Conservation Corps Hike at Lake Ponder Trailhead, 9:30-10:15 a.m.
The CCC is responsible for building the first structures at Crowley's Ridge State Park in the 1930s. Join the park interpreter for an easy walk around Lake Ponder to learn about this remarkable group of young men and the legacy they left behind. Admission is free.
