According to the Alzheimer’s Association, 5.4 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s disease.

It is the sixth-leading cause of death in the United States.

On Saturday, September 8, take a step in the right direction and help fight this dreadful disease.

Registration is now underway for the 2012 Walk to End Alzheimer’s.

The walk begins with an opening ceremony at 8 a.m. in front of the Student Union on the Arkansas State University campus in Jonesboro.

There will be vendors on hand, as well as a Kids Zone featuring a petting zoo, face painting, hula hoop fun, chalk art and a 100-yard dash.

For more information, contact Kathryn Kelly at the Central Arkansas Regional Office of the Alzheimer’s Association at (501) 265-0027 or Courtney Shackleford of Absolute Care Management at (870) 935-3737.
