NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital names new CFO

 

Kyle Sanders has been named Chief Financial Officer for NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro.

Sanders has worked at NEA Baptist since 2007 as controller.  He recently served as the interim CFO before being promoted to the position.

Sanders, who grew up in Newport, graduated Arkansas State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in finance and a Masters of Business Administration.

He is a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association and is a certified healthcare financial professional.

Lunch & Learn to focus on preventing colon cancer

 

Colon cancer affects nearly 150,000 men and women in the United States each year.  Nearly one-third of those diagnosed will die of cancer of the colon and rectum.

In observation of National Colon Cancer Awareness Month, Dr. Matt Garner will present a program on colon cancer at noon Friday, March 8, at the St. Bernards Health & Wellness Institute, 1416 East Matthews.

During the free Lunch & Learn program, Dr. Garner—who is a gastroenterologist at St. Bernards Medical Center—will discuss the signs and symptoms of colon cancer, as well as prevention.

Dr. David Pyle returns to clinical practice

 

Dr. David Pyle has joined the medical staff at St. Bernards Clopton Clinic as an internist.  He will begin seeing patients on March 6.

According to a news release from St. Bernards:

Pyle earned his M.D. degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in 1983 and completed both an internship and a residency in internal medicine at the University of Tennessee/Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis. He is board certified as a diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Ladies, make plans now for a little “Girl Talk.”

The 2013 Women’s Health Conference, presented by the Community Health Education Foundation, will be held Saturday, March 9, at Southwest Church of Christ in Jonesboro.

The conference will feature free health screenings from 7 to 11 a.m. for cholesterol, blood pressure, mammograms, osteoporosis, fitness, glucose, eye and dental.

Northeast Arkansas’s only neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) just received a generous donation from a group of community leaders.
