Clarence Ferrill Reding, 87, died Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro.
He was born September 21, 1924 in Gap Community near Sulphur Rock to the late Walter Dennis and Lela Reding. Mr. Reding served his country proudly in the U. S. Navy during World War II. He worked as a repairman for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for many years. He was a member and deacon of the First Baptist Church of Jonesboro and enjoyed deer hunting, fishing and gardening.
Survivors include his children, James Reding (Vickie) of Bono, Charles Reding (Barbara) of Heber Springs, Susan Neely (Wade) of Lawson, Patricia Peronia of Beebe and Billy Reding (Kelly) of Jonesboro; nine grandchildren, Allen Reding (Sherry), Bryan Reding (Denise), Angie Russell (Ryan), Walt Reding (Ginny), Robert Peronia, Carrie Peronia, Daisy Reding, Mary Agnes Reding and Ferrill Reding; seven great-grandchildren, Trent Herndon, Taylor Reding, Carson Reding, Brittney Reding, Adan Russell, Ellie Russell and Asher Reding.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes Marie Hampton Reding; four brothers, infant Edward Earl Reding, Homer Reding, Bobby Reding and Mack Reding and a sister, Louise Wadley.
Visitation will be 6:00 until 9:00 pm Thursday, October 6, 2011 at the Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
A graveside service will be held 11:00 am, Friday, October 7, 2011 at the Oaklawn Cemetery in Batesville with George Wadley officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home.
Lasting memorial may be sent to the American Cancer Society or the Boy Scouts Troop # 4, 3704 Eric St. Jonesboro, AR 72404.
