GCT, Westside students recognized by AHPP for essay, drawings | News

UNDATED (KAIT) - The Arkansas Historic Preservation Program recognized four students from Westside Middle School and Greene County Tech for their contributions to the "Preserve Our Past" contest.
Fifth graders Zach Rollins and Shawntay Ervin, both from Greene County Tech Elementary, took second and third place respectively for their drawings of the Greene County Courthouse.
Seventh graders Mackenzi Wood, Tanner Nolen and Gunnar George, all three of of West Side Middle School, won first, second, and third place respectively.
Wood won a first place prize for her essay on "Bulls Shoals Dam," Nolen drew a picture of the old Enterprise Church in Bono, and George drew a picture of the Blessed Sacrament Church in Jonesboro.
Trisha Adams, fifth grade, of Greene County Tech Elementary School, and Haley Robinson, seventh grade, of Westside Middle School, both received and honorable mention for their drawings of the Jackson-Herget House in Paragould and the Old Broadaway Barn in Bono.
The winning entries are exhibited at the Old State House Museum in Little Rock in May for Arkansas Heritage Month.
