JONESBORO, AR (KAIT)- Dr. William Young has died.
According to representatives with St. Bernards, Young died Friday afternoon.
Young grew up in Helena, one of six children, where his family ran a small grocery store.
Young earned a bachelor's degree in zoology from the University of Tennessee in three years. He then earned a medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.
He moved to Jonesboro in 1980 and established Otolaryngology and Facial Surgery Centrex.
Young provided leadership at St. Bernards as the chair of numerous committees. He also served as a member of the St. Bernards Development Foundation Board.
The Healthcare Medical Group was founded by Dr. Young. He also helped establish the HMG Health and Fitness Expo.
In addition to his many medical accomplishments, Young developed the Arkansas Sports Show.
