Man accused of shooting woman and setting car on fire pleads in court | News

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) – The man accused of shooting a woman in the leg pleaded guilty in court Monday.
According to the Craighead County Prosecutor's Office, 30-year-old Brandon Kapales pleaded guilty to an ongoing arson case, and was sentenced to 24 years in prison.
Jonesboro Police say on May 11, Kapales shot an unidentified 23-year-old woman in the leg in 1100 block of West Jefferson. Police say he also set a vehicle on fire in the same area. Police say they have connected the two incidents.
Kapales was arrested three days later on May 14.
Police say the 23-year-old woman was taken to St. Bernards Hospital where the bullet was successfully removed.
