A Jonesboro man was seriously injured in a fatal car crash.
The crash happened at 7:15 a.m. Saturday on Interstate 55 at the 107 mile marker in Cape Girardeau County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the tire of a 2002 Chevy Astro van blew out. The van then skidded off the right side of the road and overturned.
One passenger, Charles D. Burnes, 49, of Fenton, MO, was killed. James E. Nosser, 69, of Jonesboro was seriously injured. He was taken to St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Four other passengers and the driver, Erika Flynn, 18, all of Fenton, were also hospitalized with minor to moderate injuries.
